LES GRASSE MATINÉE is an exhibition by Careof curated by Marta Cereda on the function of idleness, the value of time and the right to nothingness, and the also positive connotation of "otium" as a creative opportunity and not as disengagement. Finemateria had realized the exhibition design enhancing these key points, designing a light and carefree space.
The project takes its title from the French expression for days when one stays in bed late and plays on the definition of matinée as a film or theater performance during daytime hours. This idiom is emphasized in the exhibition by the set-up designed by Finemateria, which exaggerates the contrast between the apparent rigidity of the volumes and the flexible, soft materials with which the seats are made.
