On the occasion of the Nitto ATP Finals 2023, Finemateria was invited to participate in the ‘TIME’ project, curated by Giorgio Galotti and Claudia Pignatale. The studio rethought the foyer of the theatre by creating a layout to support the exhibition and designed a limited collection of steel lamps.
The spatial intervention is simple and delicate, focussing on surfaces with cold and material tones, with the presentation of a light installation directly inspired by the world of tennis and the tennis racket. It consists of four luminous elements made of a single sheet of steel that transform into sculptural presences and intensify the surrounding reflections, anticipating for visitors the works ‘Smartphone, Young Woman 6 Movements D’ (2018) by Michelangelo Pistoletto and four photographs by Luigi Ghirri exhibited in the same area.
